Lots has been happening at the farm! The sun has warmed up the soil and we have begun our summer plantings. Our greenhouse is slowly emptying out and the field is filling up with tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and the like. We are welcoming the warmth and no longer battling the cold weather to keep plants alive.
Our CSA started last week and it was such a joy for us farmers to see the members pick up their baskets. At the beginning of the farm as we were looking out at the bare fields, its was hard to imagine that we would someday have crops there in place of the grass. Now the fields are full of greens and root vegetables!
Here’s what our first 2 weeks have looked like:
Week 1 we had : Radishes, dino kale, flat kale, tatsoi, cilantro, parsley, head lettuce, Mustard, swiss chard, & pac choi.
